Brian Floriani of Chicago is the Community Impact Hero. After the sudden death of his father, Bernie, the elementary school tutor decided to honor his father’s legacy and love for reading to help low-income youth by collecting, processing and distributiing children’s books from his garage. Since 2009, Bernie’s Book Bank has distrubted more than 7 Million books to children throughout Chicagoland who now have the opportunity to unlock their full potential by enhancing their reading skills.
